TurboJET rekindling "Macau Amorous Feelings"
Macau Tower ushering in the New Year with a suite of celebrations
Macau's very own "Macau Amorous Feelings" - Exhibition of A Cheng is finally on a homecoming tour! Marking the start of a series of Chinese New Year celebrations, the highly regarded mobile gallery made its debut today at Macau Tower. Featuring various showpieces of traditional culture and customs, the exhibition will be welcoming visitors through Chinese New Year, along with a series of exciting celebratory events.
In celebration of the 10th anniversary of the Macau S.A.R. which also coincided with the 10th birthday of its own brand, TurboJET hosted in Hong Kong the '"Macau Amorous Feelings" A Cheng Exhibition at Times Square and Shun Tak Centre in 2009. Against the setting of old Macau, a collection of 60 ink water-painting masterpieces by A Cheng was presented, depicting traditional Macanese customs and way of life under the painter's brushstrokes. The exhibits were presented under different themes that have brought back childhood memories for many. Enhanced interactive elements are introduced to let visitors enjoy a journey through the lives of people and faces of the city in the old-days. The "Macau Amorous Feelings" A Cheng Exhibition at Macau Tower will be opened to the public from now through till February 23, 2010.
The exhibition was inaugurated this afternoon by Guests of Honor including the (Designated) President of the Cultural Affairs Bureau Mr. Ung Vai Meng, representative of Macau Tower Mr. Vincent Tung, Passenger Services Director of Shun Tak-China Travel Ship Management Limited Mr. Alan Wong and renowned Macanese water-painting illustrator - A Cheng. After the ceremony, Guests of Honor were invited to first experience "Macau Amorous Feelings" tile and matching games. "Macau Tower has always been determined to promote Macau's unique culture and heritage to local citizens and tourists from around the world. This Chinese New Year we have teamed up with TurboJET – recipient of the Merit in Tourism Award presented by the Macau S.A.R. government, to bring home its highly regarded "Macau Amorous Feelings" A Cheng Exhibition. As the city's ambassador, we invite everyone in Macau to travel back in time with us to revisit the past and together embrace a fresh new start." remarked Mr. Vincent Tung in his welcome speech.
Following such, Macau Tower announced a series of Chinese New Year programs, including its annual "Reach New Heights Tower Walk" to be held on the 3rd Day of the lunar calendar. Macau Tower will be opening its observation levels free of charge to locals and visitors, so that they may "reach new heights" and start the year with an auspicious and family-oriented event.
