A specimen highly respected in Chinese Culture
White Tigers are magnificent creatures of spectacular
beauty. It is one of the most endangered species in
the world with an estimated 500 in existence. White
tigers are not found in the wild nowadays and are
only seen in zoos. There are approximately 200 snowy
tigers in China and they are all officially protected.
Back in the Han Dynasty, they were honored as sacred
animals that only appeared as an emblem of an emperor's
merit. To ancient Chinese, the intelligent white tiger,
together with green dragon, red bird and black reptile,
formed the celebrated "phenomenal four", with white
tiger revered as the god of the West.
The twin cubs' residence in Macau Tower is more than
taking the traditional belief to the modern world,
complementing the city's roaring economic developments.
In the effort to advocate the protection of such divine
animal, the cubs are charged with the mission of advocating
animal conservation. Through visiting the Twin Tiger
Exhibition, all visitors will become a supporter of
this goodwill, as part of the revenue generated from
admission ticket sales will be donated to the PanYu
XiangJiang Safari Park for research funding
purpose. During the 6 months' exhibition period, Macau
Tower is extending an exclusive Tower Admission Rate
to all Macau residences - MOP45 for adults and MOP25
for children, representing a 35% discount on regular
