10th January, 2003 Macau SAR

Canadian Food & Beverage Promotion at the Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre

The Consulate General of Canada, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada and Macau Tower Convention & Entertainment Centre proudly presents a "Canadian Food & Beverage Promotion" at the Macau Tower from January 10th to 31st, 2003.

The promotion is kicked-off with an opening ceremony and cocktail reception at the Macau Tower. Officiating guests included: Ms. Florinda Chan, Secretary for Administration and Justice, Macau SAR; Mr. Anthony Burger, Consul General of Canada and Ms. Daisy Ho, Director, Shun Tak Management Services Group Ltd.

To whet your appetite, the Tower's restaurants features an array of delectable cuisines that highlight Canadian foods including prime-quality red meat and meat products, and fish and seafood items. The buffet at the revolving restaurant 360 Café includes succulent seafood preparations such as Canadian Blue Shell Mussels and Scallop Rockerfeller. In addition, meat dishes include Roast Pork Loin with Brandy Cream Sauce and Canadian Cornish Game Hen with Rosemary amongst many other choices.

For the wine 'n' dine devotees, lobster and steak form the focus of 180 Lounge's set dinner. Start off with Light Cream of Lobster Soup, then savour a juicy Canadian Sirloin Steak with Roast Potatoes or Poached Halibut Fish on Creamy Seafood Risotto, and finally indulge in a Pecan Nut Tart with Caramel Sauce. At the well-known Lua Azul Chinese restaurant, a unique cooking style is being introduced by combining Chinese herbs with therapeutic effects and fresh Canadian foods. For example, Wok-fried Beef Tenderloin with Ligusticum and Fresh Mushroom uses prime-quality Canadian beef tenderloin with a hint of the ligusticum herb that promotes circulation and regulates energy.

Canadian wines of all sorts, from Cabernet Merlot Reserve to Vidal Icewine, are featured at Café on Four with a wide selection of cheese, while the Outdoor Plaza's casual waterfront Carousel Kiosk serves weekend-barbecues of Canadian steak, game hen and seafood.

Special thanks go to sponsors who have supported the Canadian Food & Beverage Promotion: Canada Beef Export Federation, H. Nolasco Company Limited and Hip Yick Company Ltd.
