Hello Kitty and her friends lead the Easter parade at Macau Tower

Japanese superstar Hello Kitty and her friends Daniel and XO are coming to Macau for a series of gala Easter Parades at Macau Tower's Outdoor Plaza, with lots of festive activities for young and old. Rain or shine, the popular children's cartoon characters will lead four parades a day from March 29 through April 7, with fun and games for everyone.

Lots of fun activities

Visitors can join the parades, scheduled daily at 1:30, 3, 4:30 and 6 p.m. and get a chance to meet and interact with the characters in person onstage. In addition, there will be photo opportunities, a Hello Kitty Playschool, sand pictures, fishing and other games, and plenty of snacks, drinks, and souvenirs like Hello Kitty goody bags on sale. Entrance to the event is free, but there will be a small charge to join the parade, and for some activities.

There's so much to do at the Tower

A wide selection of chocolate treats for Easter, like bunnies and eggs, all made in house, will be on sale indoors in the spectacular Tower Lobby. There are also attractions visitors will enjoy not just during the holiday festivities, but all year round: the 13-meter handcrafted carousel, the boardwalk, and the historic caravel, a scale replica of a pirate ship, complete with cannon and treasure.

Special holiday buffets

On Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday, March 29 through April 2, the revolving 360° Cafe, on the tower's 60th floor, will offer special holiday fare:

  • the Easter Lunch Buffet with a variety of special holiday dishes from 6:30 to 11 p.m. for MOP 168 for adults and MOP 88 for children (includes high speed elevator transport);

  • the Easter Seafood Dinner Buffet with a festive holiday menu and special activities, like face painting for children, popcorn and cotton candy as well as delectable chocolate desserts at MOP 248 for adults and MOP 148 for children; and

  • the Easter Tea Buffet between 3 and 5:30 p.m. at MOP 88 (all prices plus 10% tax.).

  • For fine Cantonese cuisine, including dim sum, Lua Azul Restaurant is also open during the Easter holidays, as is the 180° Lounge.

    At Macau Tower Cinema

    Films selected for young audiences are featured in the ultra modern Tower Cinema, with its super-comfortable seats, from March 28.

  • Return to Neverland (animated feature in Cantonese with English subtitles)
  • Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up, is back. His friend Wendy is all grown up, though, and her daughter, Jane, doesn't believe in Tinkerbell. But she sings a different tune when that dastardly Captain Hook snatches her off to Neverland. At 1:40, 3, 4:20, 7:30 and 8:50 p.m.

  • Ice Age (English version)
  • This computer-animated feature is set during the ice age, when glaciers covered the Earth's surface. A woolly mammoth (Ray Romano), a sabre-toothed tiger (Denis Leary), and a giant sloth (Kirsten Johnson) happen upon a human infant. The prehistoric animals must work together to overcome obstacles and return the child to its parents. At 5:40 and 10:10 p.m.
